Ashtanga Yoga in-person classes in Barcelona (In Spanish and English).
At Ashtanga Yoga Eixample we have a complete Mysore style program in the mornings and afternoons. 
From Monday to Friday from 6:50 a.m to 10:00 and from 6:00 p.m. to 21:00 p.m.

Both in the morning and in the evening the shala is open for 3 hours, you have freedom of arrival within a time range although there is a time limit for entry; you cannot arrive later than a specific time.

Morning shift:
You can come in to practice anytime between 6:50 and 8:30.
The shala will close promptly at 10:00.

Evening shift:
You can enter to practice at any time between 18:00 and 19:30.
The shala will close promptly at 21:00.

You will have to be aware of the moon calendar and holidays of each month to know when there will be no classes, which will always be available on the blackboard, as well as at the entrance door and in our WhatsApp group.


Traditional Ashtanga Yoga classes have slightly different approach than other types of yoga. Each student gradually learns and practices their own sequence at their own pace. Make sure to contact us if it is the first time coming to the shala.

 * Both the monthly payment and the bonuses will only be valid from the first to the last day of the current month.

On Full Moon and New Moon days the school will be closed and there will be no classes.


It is advisable not to practice at least the first 2 days of the menstrual cycle.

Pain and injury

Report any pain or injury before you start practicing.


Bring your own mat and a small towel.


On holidays the school will also be closed. It will be notified in advance.


Try to commit. If your schedule allows it, the ideal is to practice at least 5 days a week.

Get ready

Come practice on an empty stomach. No water is drunk during practice. Wait to finish and hydrate well.

Take care of yourself

Don’t rush. Each person has their own pace of learning. Respect your body, do not compare yourself to other students.


Traditional Ashtanga Yoga uses a teaching method that is popularly known as Mysore style (Mysore is the city in India where KPJAYI, the traditional teaching institute of Ashtanga Yoga is located). This style of teaching is totally personalized, it means that each student learns at the rate that their memory and their body allow. Ashtanga Yoga has six closed sequences, within the first classes each student learns a part of the first sequence (the one the teacher considers appropriate for each person). In the development of each class, each student arrives at the time that is most convenient for them, performs the sequence of postures that has been given to them and once they have finished they can leave. There will be students whose practice lasts 30 minutes, 40 minutes, 50 minutes or an hour and a half; it all depends on the rate of learning of each person. The teacher is in the class to answer questions, make adjustments to the given postures, add postures to each person’s sequence, and help each student with whatever is necessary.

Every day the mantra is recited at the beginning of the practice of Ashtanga Yoga; it is a song of gratitude that also brings a very powerful energy to the space where it is practiced.

Due to this type of personalized traditional teaching, at Ashtanga Yoga Eixample we do not offer trial classes for beginners, if you are not sure if you want to sign up, you can drop by any day during class hours to see how the school works and decide if you want to join. In order for your practice to be beneficial and the initiation period to be entertaining, we ask for a minimum commitment to attend. Bring your own mat if you have it and a small towel. (If you don’t have a mat, we have some to borrow at school for your first month only).

NOTE: Posture adjustments are made through physical contact and verbal instructions. If for any reason you feel uncomfortable with physical contact, please let us know and we will find another way to achieve the same goals.
